Aircast Walker

These walkers provide support for fractures, ligament tears, sprains, and also tendon tears. It also reduces edema in the area. They support the foot and leg with air cushions surrounding the area. Also, it can be adjusted easily for comfort and support. Walking boots such as the Aircast Walker has been shown to decrease recovery time for the injury.

Not only does it increase mobility but it acts as the cast itself. The Aircast Walker can also be inflated, deflated and also removed by the patient if needed. This is useful if the area is uncomfortable or needed to be removed for a shower for example. This also means that the Aircast Walker is only able to be used for less severe injuries. But they can also be used to reduce the amount of time of using a hard cast as the injury heals.

As the symptoms subside, gradually reduce the use of the splint.
